Waste characterisation
Knowing the waste is essential to choose a correct, safe and cost-effective disposal method
Acceptance criteria
The lab is the sole authority defining acceptance criteria, so only characterised waste enters the TSDF.
Continuous improvement
Reviews process performance and recommends improvements to handling and disposal.
ISO compliance hub
The operational hub for implementing and auditing ISO systems across the facility.
Comprehensive Analysis.
Confident
Decisions.
Our laboratory analyses waste using US EPA SW-846 and APHA methods. Parameters follow CPCB guidelines under Schedules II and III of the 2016 Rules.
Physical Properties
We analyse colour, texture, appearance, and other physical characteristics to understand material composition, support classification, and determine suitable handling, treatment, and waste management requirements.
Thermal Properties
We assess calorific value and flash point to understand combustion potential, thermal behaviour, energy recovery opportunities, and safety considerations during waste treatment, handling, and disposal processes.
Material Properties
We evaluate LOD, LOI, and specific gravity to determine moisture content, volatile matter, density, and key characteristics that support accurate material assessment and treatment planning.
Chemical Parameters
We analyse pH, NH₃, PO₄, and PFLT to determine chemical characteristics, identify potential contaminants, and support effective treatment, environmental assessment, and regulatory compliance.
Anions & Compounds
We identify cyanide, sulphide, sulphates, chlorides, and other compounds to assess chemical composition, potential toxicity, environmental risks, and appropriate treatment or disposal requirements.
Inorganics & Metals
We analyse total and TCLP metals to identify hazardous metal concentrations, evaluate leaching potential, assess environmental risks, and support safe treatment and disposal decisions.
Organic Compounds
We identify organic compounds present in samples to understand chemical composition, potential contamination, environmental risks, and suitable treatment requirements for safe and effective waste management.
The four tests
C R I T
Characterise
Our laboratory and technical teams begin by understanding the waste. Through representative sampling, analysis, and scientific characterisation, they assess its properties and determine the appropriate pathway for recovery, treatment, or disposal.
